Finance Analyst at Sumo Group
Sumo Group is expanding the Finance team to continue to provide a fantastic level of support to the business as we continue to grow.
As our Finance Analyst you’ll have an extremely varied role. You will support the Sumo Group Finance team in producing financial information, providing accurate and timely reports to the business, with robust financial controls and value add commercial analysis.
The role will require you to study - or complete studying if part qualified - for a professional finance qualification and/or level 7 apprenticeship (ACCA or CIMA). Funding and study support will be provided.
Within this role you will:
Produce timely and accurate month end results and reports, challenging the business to ensure the integrity of the P&L is maintainedTake ownership of key cost areas of the P&L and provide insight and analysis to finance managers and business stakeholders, identifying and explaining variances to forecastSupport the application of technical accounting conceptsComplete balance sheet reconciliations and controlsSupport the Sumo Digital Finance in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing robust challenge to expenditure and helping to identify risks and opportunities.Provision of contract and Studio level financial information and analysis including KPIsProcess sales and purchase ledger transactions, applying Sumo policies and proceduresSupport the provision of information to external auditors and tax advisorsAssist in the preparation of external reporting & compliance including interim and full year results, tax returns and statistical reportingIdentify and implement financial controls to manage risksContinually review and improve finance processesAssist in adhoc financial projects
You'll have the following experience and skills:
Undergraduate degree at/predicted 2:1/1st or equivalent, preferably in a relevant subject (accounting/finance/business)Possible part qualified AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMAExcellent Excel and analytical skillsAbility to analyse data accurately and quicklyAbility to work quickly to tight timetables whilst maintaining the integrity of work producedAbility to recognise potential problems and propose solutionsExcellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, in order to effectively engage a wide range of stakeholdersAbility to prioritise to plan and manage multiple tasks
