We’re excited to announce that Darren Lambourne has joined
Sumo Digital as Senior Principal Sound Designer, based in our Sumo Sheffield office.
In his previous role at Cloud Imperium Games, Darren served
as Principal Sound Designer and Audio Director, working on Star Citizen. Before
joining Cloud Imperium Games, he had also worked as Senior Sound Designer at
Ninja Theory, where he contributed on projects including action-adventure
titles Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and Devil May Cry 5.
“Sound design and music for games is a passion that
started for me in the 80s and became my career in the mid 90s,” said
Darren. “My first proper in-house job was with Gremlin and, after many
moons, I feel like I’m returning to my roots with Sumo.
“I’m really excited to meet new colleagues, reconnect
with some of the old school and to bring all the things I’ve learned along the
way to our games and culture.”

Digital Studio Audio Director Pat Phelan. “Darren is a true industry veteran
and brings with him over 30 years of experience in video game audio. I’m very
