Hello and welcome to the last edition of 2022 for Sumo Digital’s In the News! 

As we head towards the end of another great year at Sumo Digital we’ve seen several announcements and features land celebrating the hard work and success of our people and the games we make. Join us as we take a look at the projects and news covered by the media throughout November and into December.

 

THREE’S THE MAGIC NUMBER

Sackboy: A Big Adventure won its third BAFTA in November, winning the Games category at the Children and Young People BAFTAs Awards.

LITTLE ORPHEUS WINS BIG

Technicolor side-scrolling platformer Little Orpheus, developed by our very own The Chinese Room and published by Sumo Group’s publishing division Secret Mode, was honoured with a win at the Indie X Awards in November. The game won ‘Game of the Show’.

ONE OF THE BEST FOR PUZZLES

GameRant featured Spyder in its round-up of the best puzzle games to check out on Apple Arcade, we’re happy to see that our little Agent 8 made the list!

TAKING THE THRONE

Sticking with GameRant (thanks folks), the media site also featured a piece on Sumo Nottingham and Gun Interactive’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and how they believe it is set to be the asymmetrical horror game to “dethrone” Dead by Daylight.
