Sumo Nottingham and Gun Interactive release The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

Sumo Nottingham and Gun Interactive are proud to today launch The Texas Chain Saw Massacre on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X consoles, Steam and Game Pass.
This 3v4 asymmetrical horror game based on the terrifying 1974 film of the same name sees players stepping into iconic locations from the film either as part of the notorious Slaughter family as they hunt for blood, or as a victim desperate to escape.
Sumo Nottingham aimed to deliver an authentically terrifying experience for horror lovers and gamers alike to enjoy – working tirelessly to immerse players in the time and place of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. The studio has also continued to expand its team by bringing in experts across all disciplines to support the development of the project.
Sumo Digital Managing Director, Gary Dunn, said: “The Sumo Nottingham team has worked with publishers Gun Interactive to create a faithful, authentic and detailed horror experience for players to enjoy.
“Over the last three years, this horror-loving team, who are experts at working with existing IP, has immersed itself in the world of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, we can’t wait for players to test their mettle in this tense game of cat and mouse.”
A game of stealth, nerve and tension, the game will test even the most seasoned horror fans as they discover if they have what it takes to survive. Playing as the Family – familiar faces include the Cook, the Hitchhiker, and Leatherface, with newcomers Johnny and Sissy – players will stalk their victims and prevent their escape. As Victims Ana, Connie, Julie, Leland and Sonny, you must utilise stealth and shadows in order to find your freedom.
Explore locations seen in the film, including the Family House and the Gas Station, and use unique skills and attributes to level up your gameplay.
Featuring a haunting score by BAFTA-nominated composer Ross Tregenza, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre also boasts the vocal talents of horror legends including Kane Hodder, Ed Neal and Scout Taylor-Compton.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X consoles, Steam and is available day one on Game Pass.
